and movement. Earth is symbolized by the final consonant,
representing stability and rest. Human is symbolized by the
medial vowel, which connects and harmonizes movement
and stillness.
Daum(Daseot Umjikim: the Five Movements, The Five
Elements) manifest as divine movements in Heaven and as
material foundations on Earth.
In Heaven, they appear as the dynamic actions of the divine,
such as weather and natural phenomena, representing the
source of change.
In Earth, they form the material basis of existence, like
growing trees and physical forms, where change becomes
manifest. Human acts as the harmonizer between these
cosmic forces. Through Human’s role in balancing BalkIEo,
the changes initiated by Heaven are materialized and
completed in Earth.
Human beings and Daum
For Human beings, the Daum Elements are expressed
through virtues and physical organs. The divine movement
manifests as the Five Virtues: benevolence, propriety, trust,
