Root letters ㆍㅡ ㅣ
The eleven medial vowels
were modeled after the images
of Heaven, Earth, and Human,
but they also contain
delicate and profound meanings
that are not easily recognizable at first glance.
The vowel ㆍ (Hanul-A [ʌ])
is modeled after Heaven,
representing the deepest sound.
Its round shape resembles a bullet,
symbolizing its profound nature.
The vowel ㅡ (eu)
is neither deep nor shallow,
embodying a balanced state.
Its flat shape reflects the form of Earth,
emphasizing stability.
