2. Explanation of initial consonants


    The initial sound of Jeongeum corresponds to the initial
    consonant in the method of Chinese phonetic notation.
    Since sound begins from the initial sound, it is
    metaphorically referred to as the mother of sounds.

    The initial sound of the word 군 Gun meaning King is the
    molar sound ㄱ(G). When ㄱ combines with              , it forms 군.
    The initial sound of 쾌 Kwae meaning Cheerful is ㅋ. When
    ㅋ combines with ㅙ, it becomes 쾌.
    The initial sound of 뀨 KKyu meaning Young Dragon is ㄲ.
