4. Explanation of the final sounds
Final sounds completing syllables
The final sound follows the initial sound through the medial
sound, completing the character’s sound and syllable.
For example, in the word 즉 JeuK, the final sound is ㄱ(iK),
a molar sound, which is placed at the end of 즈 Jeu to form
즉 JeuK.
Similarly, in HHoNG [xoŋ], the final sound is ㆁ ([ŋ],
nasal sound), which is placed at the end of [xo] to
complete the syllable [xoŋ].
This principle applies to all tongue sounds, lip sounds , teeth
sounds , and throat sounds.
Tone and strength
Sounds are distinguished by their speed and clarity:
Soft and slow tones form level tones, rising tones, and
departing tones. Short and fast tones form checked tones.
Letters with neutral resonance (unclear or resonant sounds)
do not produce strong sounds. Therefore, when used as final
sounds, they are suitable for level, rising, and departing
tones.
