Medial vowels, the cosmic harmony


    There are 11 medial vowel letters in total. They are based on
    the principles of Hattangsa(Heaven ㆍ [ʌ], Earth ㅡ (eu)
    [ɯ], and Human ㅣ(i) reflecting the cosmic harmony of the
    universe.

    Heaven, the origin of sounds
    ㆍ (Hanul-A [ʌ]) represents Heaven. It is pronounced with
    the tongue slightly curled, creating a deep and resonant
    sound. This sound is profound and far-reaching,
    symbolizing the vastness and depth of the universe.
    The circular shape of ㆍ represents the roundness of
    Heaven, reflecting the ancient belief that Heaven is round
    and encompassing. The sound produced is deep and
    primordial, symbolizing the origin of all sounds.
    According to the principles of BalkIEo, ㆍ symbolizes the
    beginning of all things, just as midnight marks the end of
    one day and the start of a new one. It represents the
    moment when Heaven opens and life begins. In this sense,
    ㆍ is the most fundamental vowel in Hangul. It symbolizes
    the origin of sound and the beginning of life, just as Heaven
    is the source of all existence.
