Earth, the balance and stability of sounds
ㅡ (eu) represents Earth. It is pronounced with the tongue
slightly curled but more relaxed than ㆍ, producing a sound
that is neither deep nor shallow. This reflects the balance
and stability of Earth.
The horizontal shape of ㅡ symbolizes the flatness and
expansiveness of Earth, which provides the foundation for
all living things. It represents the harmony and balance that
Earth maintains between Heaven and Human.
ㅡ corresponds to the time just before dawn, around 2 a.m.,
when the night ends, and Earth begins to awaken. This is
the time when energy and life start to stir, marking the
beginning of activity on Earth.
The sound of ㅡ is neutral and balanced, positioned between
the deep sound of ㆍ Heaven and the shallow sound of ㅣ
Human. It symbolizes equilibrium and harmony, reflecting
the role of Earth as the mediator between Heaven and
Human.

ㅣ(i) represents Human. It is pronounced with the tongue
flat and relaxed, producing a clear and light sound. This
