Explanation 1 · Principles of Creation

HANGUL, The Cosmic Philosophy · p.155 / 428
By understanding these five principles,
the relationship between sounds and letters becomes clear,
making it easier to grasp their structure.
Simply by looking at the shape of a letter,
    one can intuitively understand
the type of sound it represents.

Additionally, there are semi-tongue sounds ㄹ(R/L)
    and semi-dental sounds ㅿ [z],
which also follow the shape of their respective speech organs
but differ in form and phonetic characteristics.

    The sounds ㄴ ㅁ ㅅ ㅇ(N M S ◌)
appear later in the order of introduction
    (e.g., ㄷ ㅌ ㄴ) (D T N).
But since they are relatively soft,
they come first and serve as root letters
    when modeling other letters.

    For the molar sounds,
ㄱ(G) is placed first instead of ㆁ[ŋ].
    Other consonants are derived
    by taking the root letters
    ㄱ ㄴ ㅁ ㅅ ㅇ(G N M S ◌)
as the basis for their shapes.
