The season and attributes of sound


    When aligning the Jeongeum
    with the four seasons
    and the natural forces of Heaven and Earth,
    they harmonize well
    with Daum and the Five Sounds.

    Throat sounds correspond
    to water, winter, and the note Ra.

    Molar sounds correspond
    to wood, spring, and the note Mi.

    Tongue sounds correspond
    to fire, summer, and the note Sol.

    Dental sounds correspond
    to metal, autumn, and the note Re.

    Lip sounds have no fixed position or number,
    so they correspond
    to Earth, late summer, and the note Do.
