3. Gongwae and Bokgwae, Jasi, Chuksi, Insi

    Gongwae (䷁) and Bokgwae (䷗) are hexagrams from the I
    Ching that represent the cycles and changes of nature.
    Gongwae symbolizes darkness and the Earth. It embodies
    qualities of stillness and receptivity. It represents a state
    where everything is paused, energy is gathered, and
    preparations are made for the next change. In contrast,
    Bokgwae signifies the end of darkness and the coming of
    dawn. It symbolizes new beginnings and recovery. It marks
    the time when stagnation ends, life force and hope are
    renewed, illustrating the natural cycle of endings and
    beginnings.

    In the explanation of the vowel base characters ㆍ ㅡ ㅣ, the
    terms Jasi, Chuksi, and Insi are introduced. These are
    concepts from traditional timekeeping, which divides the day
    into twelve segments, reflecting the flow of nature and the
    changes in life energy.
    Jasi represents the time when ㆍ (Hanul-A) opens, from 11
    PM to 1 AM. It is the moment when one day ends, and a
    new day begins. During this period, darkness is at its
    deepest, energy is calm, and forces are condensed,
    symbolizing preparation for renewal.
