13. SeaHangul 새한글, a new Hangul for humanity


    Jeongeum Hangul refers to a new Hangul, 새한글
    SeaHangul, that should be created based on the original
    principles of Hunminjeongeum Haeryebon while considering
    the demands of global advanced technology and modern
    needs. It is intended for all of humanity.
    Several consonants that were used in Hunminjeongeum are
    no longer present in modern Korean. Characters like ㆍ ㆆ
    ㅿ ㆁ have disappeared from standard usage. The loss of ㆍ,
    which was described as the fundamental and supreme vowel
    in Hunminjeongeum, represents a loss of the spirit of
    Hangul. The dot that symbolized the sky is now called
    Arae-a and is forgotten from everyday use.
    King Sejong claimed that Jeongeum could even capture the
    sound of a rooster crowing, yet despite the 11,172
    precomposed syllables available in Unicode, modern Hangul
    still struggles to distinguish sounds like V and F or R and L.
    Furthermore, the order of vowels and consonants, as well as
    the method of Hangul education, needs to be realigned with
    its original creation principles.
